An Open Church

Too often one gets to a Church door to find it closed or locked. Nothing says you’re welcome like a locked door.

At St John’s we do things differently. During day light hours your Church is open.

Many people comment on the incredible atmosphere of St John’s. It is an oasis of calm and peace in a busy world and all of us need that peace at points in our lives.

It is open for people to find peace in. It is open for people to stop and pray. It is open for those moments in life when we need God. It is open for those moments when we need to say help and those moments when we need to say thank you.

Please always feel free to come in and take a look. Stop for thirty seconds, or two hours in that place where, ‘prayer has been valid’.

The inside St John’s is one of Sevenoaks’ hidden secrets. It is often commented that St John’s feels different to other Churches in the town. It contains an interior that draws one to prayer with beautiful images and statutes. It intentionally speaks of the glory of God and all that He does. The stained glass is of a very high quality. None of these objects are here by chance. Each speak of the glory of God and his incredible effect on human lives.

Nothing is in our Church without reason and there are cards in Church that help to explain the building to you.
