“Before it is consecrated, it is bread; but when the words of Christ have been said, it is the Body of Christ. See then in what sort the word of Christ is mighty to change all things.”

St. Ambrose

Benediction, when we pray before the consecrated host, is an opportunity to worship God in a meditative service. We are reminded of God’s great generosity in the gift of his grace, of himself, in and through the consecrated bread. This powerfully reminds us that Almighty God wishes us to draw near to him, so much so that he humbled himself to enter our world. At Benediction we honour God for this great gift, a gift that changes our lives, and we receive Jesus’ blessing.

Benediction takes place at 6pm on Sundays from September until July.
